I think AgaP. would admit that this wasn’t her “best” project in terms of ease and fun. But the finished result is pretty spectacular and inspiration to those of us with entryways whose doors have seen better days. Take a look and see how it turned out:

AgaP. had a “bad craft day” and encountered every DIY problem in the book. But, armed with her list of dos and don’ts, you’ll learn from her mistakes, and it’ll be all smooth sailing from there.

From AgaP.: Quite quickly I realized my ruler was about half the size of what I really needed. But hey, would I not be able to draw all the lines with what I had? Of course I would! So I started drawing…pencils were breaking like dry twigs. The triangle measurements seemed ok…until I cut them out with scissors. And yeah, the scissors, even though they cut smoothly, the precision was something that was missing, so I started correcting the edges with a utility knife…grrr. Round midnight I realized that due to an unpredicted number of fall starts I will have to go back to [the store] for veneer…and a proper ruler. Thankfully, the next day the curse stopped working, well, almost, cause I won’t even bore you with a story of how long it took to match the pattern! Considering the hell I went through to complete that project I believe the final result is astonishingly good! For those who would like to try I made a list of things NOT to do…it’s ok to learn from other people’s mistakes 😉

Thanks for sharing AgaP! We love Patchwork & Co. and your projects…
