Anam's paint splattered, wobbly bookshelf was on the verge of being recycled after some new built-ins took over its role of craft supply storage. But Anam decided to sturdy the piece up and give it a bright, brand new look.
From Anam: I've had this bookshelf for almost a year and bought it for super cheap off Craigslist. I only use it to store my craft supplies and paint products so it ended up having multiple stains throughout, which didn't bother me since that was the purpose of the bookshelf. The back of the bookshelf became detached as well since it was moved around so much and it was not a sturdy piece of furniture to begin with.
When my husband and I moved to our new apartment I had ample built in storage to store all my crafty supplies so I didn't need this bookshelf anymore. I could have just given it away for recycling, but I thought to myself that I should give it a makeover and a second chance. And I am glad I did!
The process was really simple because I used removable wallpaper which takes no time to be installed and gives any piece of furniture an instant makeover. I did paint the outside and outer edges of the bookshelf with colors that complemented the wallpaper. I also attached Hairpin Legs for the first time, which was surprisingly really easy.
I absolutely adore the fun and colorful wallpaper pattern as well as the very modern hairpin Legs. I wouldn't change anything about it since it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to turn out.
Anam's words of wisdom: Don't be afraid to play around with bold, colorful patterns or paint colors. Also using a drill is really simple, so don't be scared.
