We wound up buying our first home in Edmonds. The home’s previous owners ran an old folks living facility. Once the house was foreclosed on the owners abandoned ship and squatters settled in. We purchased this fixer upper in February of 2015. Short on cash my husband and his father took on the work themselves. My husband would work his day job from 5am to 1pm and then head up to the house and work into the wee hours of the night. They redid everything – electrical, plumbing, insulation, floors, kitchen, bathrooms – EVERYTHING.

Home with our toddler and pregnant with our second son, my job was to scour the internet for affordable design options. I have always had an affinity for Scandinavian aesthetic which lent itself beautifully to this mid century modern rambler. White on white on white was my jumping off point. I figured from that foundation I could slowly start to incorporate color where appropriate. I love our home. Every room could be its own before and after.

Thank you, Elektra!
