June’s fireplace had some dated features like fake wood and weird Victorian-esque floral tiles. She would have loved to replace the whole thing with her dream of a wood burning fireplace, but she didn’t have the budget for it right now. So she got creative and made the fireplace over with some paint, stencils and style!

From June:

I was fed up with my dated fireplace…the fake wood surround and the horrid quasi-Victorian tiles from the 80s made me cringe! And when my dream of a wood burning stove was crushed (for financial reasons) earlier this year, I decided to give the fireplace I was stuck with a makeover! I painted the mantel then spray-painted the tiles white before designing my own stencil, based on a Norwegian knotting pattern. I love how the fireplace looks now, with just the right amount of Scandinavian chic-ness to it!!

Thank you June! See June’s whole process on her blog.
