My wife and I bought our house last year and there was a back house that was part of the property. At the time of the sale there was someone living in the back house so we weren’t able to see it (other than peering through the windows). In short, we had no idea what state the house was in but, from what we could could gather, it was a dump.

Once we closed on the house, we finally got to tour the back house and we were in shock. Not only did it smell like death but there were all sort of issues with the bathroom. I get a little queasy thinking about the state of affairs in that that place: mold, a toilet from a horror movie and to top it off, a spilled bottle of cheap cologne that only made the smell worse.

I set out to renovate and gutted the entire house myself over the course of a year. I remodeled and reconfigured the bathroom, installing super cool encaustic tiles and a huge glass shower door. We installed a big window and a new single light front door and pulled up the tile floor and polished the concrete floors. I installed a new kitchen and filled it with cool art and furniture and now our entire October is booked with Airbnb guests.

Thank you John!
