While not in terrible shape, Lesley’s bathroom felt a little dated. Instead of committing to a major bathroom remodel, she made some smart design moves to make the most of her small space.

From Lesley: The bathroom in my condo is tiny, and badly needed updating when I moved in. It was straight out of the 80s with dingy beige paint, and a terribly outdated medicine cabinet/light fixture situation.

I considered gutting the whole thing and starting over, but instead opted for a cheaper cosmetic update. The whole thing was around $500 and took three Saturdays worth of work. Since the bathroom already had zero natural light, I went with really a really dark, saturated grey color and white accents. I painted the walls, trim and vanity. I also went for a sleek mirror and new light fixture and got an IKEA wall cabinet in glossy white. Finally, I added an acrylic toilet paper holder and rug from Urban Outfitters.

Thank you, Lesley!
