And now for Dena’s tip on how to get crisp, pro results on that DIY upholstery job: use cardboard upholstery strips to wrap the cut edges before attaching to the underside of the cushion. An easy, inexpensive solution that lasts awhile:

Cardboard tack strip comes in 20 yard rolls from Joann for about 12 bucks. I have bought one roll ever in my life and am still working on the same roll.
