Is your home saddled with a blah fireplace mantel and surround? Unless you like flaunting your big screen TV, the fireplace can often be the living room’s main visual focal point. Why not really make it stand out? That’s what Kristi did, reclaiming wood in the process. It took nearly eight hours for this transformation, but the end result is way worth it!

With a new rustic modern fireplace, Kristi was able to decorate the rest of her space to fit her tastes, and now the whole room is a stylish blend. But the showstopper is definitely that fireplace!

From Kristi:

Our reclaimed wood fireplace is the most eye-catching piece in our home. Its rustic nature next to the chic and shiny pieces in the rest of the living room creates such a fabulous dichotomy.

This project took about eight hours to complete, and it was definitely worth the effort! We saved time by not doing a demolition of the current mantel. We just built the frame around it. So, reclaim your fireplace, and get started! We are so glad we did!
