Although her boyfriend was not convinced that this was the sofa for their apartment, Miranda had big plans. First to go, that dated skirt:

With a black slipcover, a graphic black and white fabric, and an ottoman to match, the sofa feels fresh and modern with more room to stretch out.

From Miranda:

We looked for a couch for what felt like forever! I had a little trouble convincing my boyfriend that this couch was “the one,” but I thought if I got rid of the skirt and the pillows, and recovered the rest, it could work! The first reincarnation of the couch was white and didn’t include the ottoman. 1.5 years of puppy wear later, it needed to be recovered again. This time I wanted to build an ottoman to mimic a chaise lounge extension, thereby making the couch comfortable for two people. Here’s the result!

Thank you Miranda!
