Megan’s kitchen was dark, didn’t feel like her and was completely lacking storage. She decided to banish all the brown and open the space up to make it brighter and more functional. The result is a charming kitchen that was totally DIY!

From Megan: Our ten year old kitchen (new to us) was dark, tiny and unattractive. Dust would settle on the eaves and required us to get on a ladder to clean them, which never happened. Our cabinets were very small and allowed for only minimal storage. I had two drawers in the entire kitchen! Everything was a different shade of brown, nothing was fresh and bright, and there wasn’t an ounce of me in the design or layout.

I wanted the subtle look of a farm kitchen, making sure it didn’t feel too theme-y. It needed to be pretty, bright, full of storage and have ample counter space. I love to cook and bake and needed my kitchen to be my happy place.

After careful planning, researching, and price checking we got to work. The project took about 10 weeks and $6,000. Everything was done completely DIY. This is something we are extremely proud of and we LOVE how our new kitchen turned out.
