These Are the Best Home Staging Companies Across the U.S.
Are you looking for a home stager? I scoured the latest lists of award winners for the best home staging companies in every region of the United States. Here’s who you should be calling for that next project.
Northeast: JessFinessed
JessFinessed was a finalist in 2022 for the International Home Staging Awards’ Best Home Staging Transformation category. The company is based in the Boston area and offers home staging for both vacant and occupied properties; interior design services; and furnishing for rental properties. Its founder, Jess Harrington, has experience with fine art and antique auctions, and brings that honed eye to staging projects.
Mid-Atlantic: Terry Mainord Design
Terry Mainord Design took home two prizes in the 2022 IHSA awards: Best Vacant Home Staging Project, and Best Occupied Home Staging Project. Terry Mainord herself is a Houston native, though she had a long career in New York City as a fashion and prop stylist. Now, her Brooklyn-based staging company takes advantage of all those skills for both home staging and interior design work.
Southeast: Hearth and Honey Homes
In the 2022 IHSA awards, Hearth and Honey was both a winner and a finalist in the Best Home Transformation Project category, and a finalist for the Best Vacation Home Staging Project category. Margie Kaercher, the owner of the Tampa-based company, comes from a real estate background — her mother was a Realtor and her father a custom home-builder. In addition to staging, Hearth and Honey also offers interior design and Airbnb styling services.
Southwest: SWAY Staging + Design
In 2021, Utah-based SWAY Staging + Design was a finalist in IHSA’s Best Home Staging Transformation Project category; the company staged a remodeled home with an awkward-sized living room, bringing focus to the fireplace and the warmth of the home. Today, SWAY offers vacant home staging, vacation rental furnishing, pre-listing consultations, and interior design services. The owners are best fried duo Maria Pappas and Kamilla Romankowski, who both have a background in business marketing.
West Coast: House Candy HOME
House Candy HOME was a finalist in both 2020 and 2022 for the IHSA Best Home Staging Transformation Project category. The company has a track record of getting sellers more than the asking price on homes House Candy has staged — including several homes that sold for a full million dollars above the asking price. House Candy is based in Aptos, California, and run by designer Ashley Tapley. She can help with interior design, staging projects, and color consultations.
Northwest: Seattle Staged to Sell and Design
For nine years in a row, Seattle Staged to Sell and Design has brought home Houzz awards for best service and best design. The company has also earned awards from Fresh Chalk and the International Association of Home Staging Professionals. Owner Shirin Sarikhani brings an international perspective to her projects — she was born in Iran, grew up in the U.S., and ran a home decor business in London before heading to Seattle and began Staged to Sell and Design. Sarikhani offers both staging and interior design services.
Midwest: Chicagoland Home Staging
Chicagoland Home Staging is a multi-year winner of awards from the Real Estate Staging Association. The company was nominated for the Top 75 People in the Real Estate Staging World and was noted as one of the Most Influential People in Staging. The team brings more than 30 years of full-time staging experience to the Chicago area, offering staging services for both vacant and occupied homes.
