Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I live on the third floor of an older (but newly renovated) building! It’s nestled between downtown and the Cherry Park area — with an awesome yoga studio nearby. My apartment has an open floor plan, but I’ve tried to create pockets of space for sleeping, doing work, and hanging out.
The windows allow my apartment to get lots of natural light (even in the winter), and Benji enjoys people watching or napping from the cat perch I installed behind my couch.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Modern minimalist with boho undertones
What is your favorite room and why? Since it’s a studio apartment, I would say my favorite “section” is my work area. My books are nearby in case I need to reference something for my dissertation, and the picture above helps reflect sunlight.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I made the light “fixture” above my bed using a small fruit basket and LED puck lights! At night, I don’t always want to turn on all the lights, and it’s nice to have a reading light.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Take your time, be mindful, and add pieces that bring you joy — but don’t forget to be creative with your storage!
