This home is actually my childhood home! My parents owned this house for 22 years and were ready for a change and to downsize. This home has a lot of sentimental value and I have so many fond memories growing up here, and when my parents decided to move, my husband and I jumped on it. To be able to raise my children in the beautiful home I grew up in is so surreal. I hope to raise them as well as my parents raised us and that they may find inspiration all around them in the home we are building for them!

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room is our bedroom! My husband and I have been married for seven years and have moved around quite a bit before our forever home. Whenever we moved into a new place, our bedroom was always on the back burner and never got done. Now, as parents in our new home, we really wanted a space for ourselves and made our bedroom a priority and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.

Most of our home is light and bright, but we chose to go dark in a bedroom to create a nice sultry/kid-free vibe. Our master bedroom is absolutely massive and includes a formal seating area where my husband and I spend most of our time after the kids go to bed. Creating a space with just the two of us in mind was so refreshing!

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I’m huge on vintage, handmade rugs! We just sold the Persian rug in our living room and purchased a new Persian rug at an estate sale and it’s my dream rug! Texture is everything, and I’m a huge believer that rugs should be in every room and can totally change the dynamic of a space!

Which fictional character would be most at home in your place? The Little Mermaid for sure. Our home reminds me of her underwater cove of treasures! There is a lot going on here, but everything we bring into this home is loved and cherished!

Any advice for creating a home you love? Combine old and new! I feel like the balance between old and new is so important! It can be seen all around us and should be incorporated in design as well! A home filled with vintage but also new pieces feels fresh and alive but also has charm and history and that is everything!

Thanks, Arianna!
