Brigid Andrews, a merchandising director, has been a part of the fashion world for 15+ years. And her Brooklyn apartment reflects this experience… as well as her love for eye-catching visuals. Stacks of fashion magazines cover the top of the credenza in the bedroom, transforming it into a show-stopping feature. Fashion photographs hang on the walls, including a print from her favorite photographer Cass Bird. All of these elements tie together the rooms of the large apartment, creating multiple interesting focal points.

Mixed into decor, and equally important to the style of the space, are the found objects and vintage pieces, such as the mid-century chairs, vintage bar cart, and the glacier striped wool chair. Brigid’s best advice for designing your space? “Be authentic, trust your eye, don’t follow trends, invest in pieces and mix with bargain finds or vintage,” she says. “Refresh and reconfigure at least every six months.”

Biggest Challenge: Keeping the space dust free. I like having things on the floor; worst dust magnet but I deal with it.

What Friends Say: Usually it’s one of two things, ” Your apartment is huge” or “OMG your closet.” Sometimes it’s both.

Biggest Embarrassment: My closet space is organized chaos. Too many clothes accumulated when you’ve been working in fashion for many years. I always find surprises, pieces that I forgot about.

Proudest DIY: The credenza in the dining area. I assembled it myself (the instruction manual was missing). It’s still standing.

Biggest Indulgence: My Cass Bird Print, “Pink.” I bought it from Red Hook Labs not long after her Exhibition “In Bed.” I think it’s my favorite thing in the apartment.
