“Bridgerton” hive, rejoice (or take a celebratory promenade around your estate): Shondaland has launched an official “Bridgerton” podcast — one that will contain more news updates than Lady Whistledown’s column. In collaboration with iHeartRadio, “Bridgerton: The Official Podcast” will provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the hit Netflix period drama with conversations about production, storyline, music, costumes and set design, historical context, and much more, available weekly on Thursdays to fill those “Bridgerton” voids.

The podcast will be hosted by Gabrielle Collins, a producer and writer who specializes in documentary podcasts and studied colonialism, Parliament, and Shakespeare at Oriel College, a constituent of the University of Oxford in England, according to Shondaland. Available to stream on Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and Spotify, the first two episodes of “Bridgerton: The Official Podcast” are already available to devour.

Guest hosts Jess Brownell, a Shondaland writer (“Scandal,” “Bridgerton”); Dr. Hannah Greig, a historian who specializes in the 18th and 19th century; and Annabelle Hood, a production assistant on the show, join Collins in the first episode to take fans into the world of the show. Collins is joined by showrunner Chris Van Dusen, Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), and Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury) in the second episode, which explores the filming locations of the first season. Yes, much more of the cast and crew will appear weekly.

The podcast launch comes after Netflix announced the renewal of “Bridgerton” for Season 2. (The series smashed viewing records and became Netflix’s biggest hit, after all.) The sophomore season will focus more on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), eldest brother of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), and his pursuit of a suitable marriage. “Sex Education” actor Simone Ashley has been cast as his love interest, Kate Sharma.

Until then, “Bridgerton: The Official Podcast” airs weekly on Thursdays.
