Name: Brittany
Location: Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada

The best way to describe our home on the East Coast of Canada is a woodsy retreat with fresh finishes. Our home is located in Quispamsis, in an area known for its outdoorsy roots with cool tree lines and beaches that surround the Saint John River.

This 2,700 square foot walk-out bungalow was built by my husband’s company in June 2013. With my husband being a contractor and in real estate we move frequently, but what makes this house special is how deceiving it is. From the outside it looks quite compact, misleading our guests before they walk inside.

This open concept has 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a finished basement with transom windows throughout the home, letting in extra light and showing off the incredible tree line.

Our style could be defined as rustic eclectic with a lot of our decor coming from vintage shops and flea markets. A major source of our inspiration is your website and the New Brunswick outdoors, where we spend a lot of our spare time with our goldendoodle, Ruby.

We spend the most time in the open kitchen / living room combo, with our favorite item being the matte black bar car that we enjoy with each other and guests. I love how the bar cart is both functional (even for brunches) and aesthetically curated to reflect our social lifestyle.

I am especially proud of this home because my husband built it and that we worked as a team making it a cozy dwelling.

Thanks, Brittany!
