Name: Brooke
Location: Chinandega, Nicaragua

My husband and I moved to Nicaragua over 10 years ago to open an office of a local real estate company, Aurora Leon Realty. We recently finished our “passion project”… we resurrected a 50 year old barn that originally was located on neighboring farm in Northern Nicaragua. We had the structure taken down, transported to our beachfront property, and put back up maintaining the integrity of the previous structure while adding some modern accents and comforts!

When the house is not rented out, we use it on the weekends and when friends and family visit. We live in the colonial city of Leon, about 1.5 hours south of our beach house. All of the wood in the house is original, and all of the furniture was made locally, from the left over wood. The house sits on 9 acres of pasture, fruit trees and hardwoods overlooking the beach. I love that my family can really connect with nature and enjoy the tranquility of the ocean.
