Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: My husband Arsenio and I currently live in our first home, which was built in the 1950s, with our two dogs Remy and Lela. After moving in, we have not done any major renovations, but I mainly focused on budget-friendly DIYs to customize and update our space.
I’ve hand-woven a macrame king-sized headboard, built a breakfast nook banquette from 2x8s, and installed custom cedar shelves next to our built-in electric fireplace.
I’ve done all of these projects, plus many others, to help elevate our home without breaking the bank.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Neutral, bohemian, eclectic, bright, airy
What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room is my living room because it holds many of my favorite things in my home: my fireplace, gallery wall, record player, and built-in cedar shelves.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? My latest addition to my home was a DIY cane headboard that I made for less than $100 that was inspired by a headboard from CB2 that was originally $600.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Create a curated home by only buying items that bring you joy. Also, try and stick to a color palette that is timeless.
