As summer approaches, people are looking for ways to improve their outdoor spaces without spending too much money. According to Pinterest, searches are up by 528% for “budget garden ideas” and 658% for “DIY small patio ideas on a budget.”

Many of the pins that come up when you search for budget garden ideas are container gardens, but they come in a wide range.

This pretty garden combines a raised bed with mini gardens in long, metal planters.

If you want to grow your own fruit, this vertical strawberry garden shows one way to do it.

If you’re working with even more limited space, you can make a succulent garden using picture frames.

As far as small patios go, plants, a string of lights, or one DIY project can each make a big impact.

Here, a privacy screen and wooden slats separate a patio area from the rest of the yard.

Just a string of lights makes this tiny patio a cozy place to wind down.

This patio combines potted plants, a vertical garden, and window boxes to make a space fit for high tea.

Happy gardening, and happy pinning!
