At first glance, this small apartment looks to only be filled with the choicest mix of high-end designer finds. And for sure, Hentati has a truly enviable collection of modern and vintage pieces of furniture and art. But his entire apartment — all 646 square feet — is also a masterclass in mixing high and low. Key IKEA gems blend beautifully with more expensive items for a truly one-of-a-kind home!

Before he purchased the small space in Paris’ Saint-Denis neighborhood 11 months ago, the brand-new two-bedroom apartment was “completely untouched” and essentially empty of both stuff and character, according to Hentati.

He doesn't believe in rules when it comes to decorating. "Surround yourself with objects that make you feel something, like joy, curiosity, and good nostalgia," he advises.

“I wanted to create the feeling of an art gallery, with a subtle masculine touch,” he begins, describing the home he lives in alone. “The space reflects a mix of influences like modernism, brutalism, space age, and postmodernism.”

He sees himself as a person who’s “calm, structured, and attentive to details,” and he also confesses to being drawn to the fun and timeless designs of the Bauhaus movement. “My home reflects this through a clean yet expressive aesthetic,” he continues. “Every object is chosen with care, and friends often say my home truly reflects me: nonconformist, bold, and full of character.”

Two key IKEA pieces in this corner of the living room (the paper lamp and the black lounge chair) are expertly elevated in style by mixing with high-end vintage designer finds.

He says he also had to choose every element with care because it’s such a small space. “Nothing is there by chance; everything has been selected with intention.” He says now, the apartment is calm and filled with light.
