I am a professional bedding sleuth. In fact, since I founded Apartment Therapy I’ve been buying and testing all things home, much to the chagrin of my daughter, who continually watches our home fill up with stuff. Out of all of it, I write about the best.

When it comes to sheets, I have switched my approach and upgraded over the years, but — in a pivotal move — I have recently moved away from my love of linen to reclaim my love for 100 percent cotton in sateen and percale sheets, pillows, and duvets. While a sateen sheet can have a silky, cool texture that supports a very adult and romantic sleep environment, percale breathes beautifully, softens up with every wash, and reminds me of my best, most snug nights sleeping as a child.

Up until recently, however, all of my bedding was either white or a solid color, which was totally fine, until I realized what I was missing: Cammie

What Is Cammie Bedding?

Cammie is a brand-new online arm of a long-established, family-owned textile company based in India. I met the founders last year, and they promised something novel: an online platform for creating customized sets of their organic percale bedding by mixing and matching from more than 40 soothing colors. They invited me to “play” with their website, and I dove in. For me, personally, it was super enjoyable to try out different colors and change the beds — including the duvet cover, flat sheet, fitted sheet, pillowcase, and sham — with the click of a mouse.  I’d seen this with sneakers and automobiles, but NEVER with bedding!

Why I Love Cammie Bedding

The sumptuous, 400-thread count bedding is top-notch, super comfortable, cool to sleep on, and breaks in nicely. These sheets are already getting better with each wash. But the quality of Cammie’s sheets is just the beginning — it’s the paintbox of colors that make them fun. As a designer, I love that I can design a bed in minutes, never design the same bed twice, and be sleeping on it or have a client sleeping on it within a week. I’ve now mixed and matched beds for myself and my daughter and am about to design a few more for our humongous Small/Cool NYC Experience in October at Industry City in Brooklyn.

Cammie’s bedding is available in five sizes (Twin, Full, Queen, King, and Cal King) and pieces can be purchased individually or as bundles, such as the Bedding Ensemble (duvet cover, fitted sheet, flat sheet, two pillowcases, two shams; $450) and The Perfect Sheet Set (fitted sheet, flat sheet, two pillowcases; $250). Cammie also has an inspiration page that will help you mix and match colors to get the exact look that suits your style, whether it’s boho or beachy.
