These Faux Plants May Be the Most Realistic I’ve Seen, and They’re on Amazon
Faux plants and flowers have been around for as long as I can remember. But, with a few notable exceptions, they’ve really only become super-convincing in the past few years or so. And typically, the more realistic, the harder they are to source. Well, I’m happy to report that I’ve discovered a new-to-me brand that’s changing the game — and they have a storefront on Amazon to boot, meaning Prime members can have a fake tree on their doorsteps in two days’ time. Meet CG Hunter, a brand that designs and manufactures luxe faux plants, flowers, and greenery alongside some holiday and home decor.
Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way first: Faux plants, especially the hyper-realistic looking ones, aren’t cheap, and CG Hunter is no exception to that rule, though they’re not the most expensive fakes I’ve encountered either. If you look at a fake plant as a forever plant though — a decorative piece that doesn’t need watering, will last for years with just a little dusting, and can fill the empty awkward corner or shelf spot you’ve maybe never known what to do with — they’re certainly worth the investment or splurge over time. You don’t have to worry about them dying, and if you keep them out of intense sunlight, they won’t fade terribly either.
As far as the realism goes with CG Hunter, much of it has to do with the fact that the leaves are wired so they’re endlessly repositionable, and the trunks, branches, and stems are hand-painted versus the printed plastics and cheaper material construction you typically see with big box versions. You can find everything from large trees and popular medium-sized houseplants to arrangements of succulents and orchids. The assortment is fairly tightly curated, but the brand has been quick to hop on trends. They’ve got you covered if you’re into ficus and fiddle leaf fig trees, but I think my personal favorite is the topiary style tabletop olive tree, which would be perfect on a mantel or kitchen counter.
All of the CG Hunter plants come in textured grayish white pots that sit somewhere in between traditional and modern, so their designs should work in just about any space. I’m excited to see what the brand has to offer for holiday in the way of faux greenery because these faux plants, flowers, and succulents are among the best I’ve ever seen. And if you need an easy trick to make any fake plant look more realistic, it’s all about adding moss to your pot or planter.
