Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I live here with my fiancé, Dave, and our two cats, Mog and Mango. Our home is a Victorian house built in 1882. Initially, when we first moved in we didn’t think there was a lot we could do with it! But during the pandemic, I started to think outside the box a lot more and actually really grew to love working with a smaller space. I’ve learned not to let a small space limit my design, and our house has become all the better for it! Both myself and my partner have taught ourselves so many skills over the last couple of years and do all of the renovation work — including building lots of furniture!

My home is definitely a reflection of my personality. It has a very fun side with lots of color but also a calmness to it. I’m quite an introverted-extrovert, so it makes perfect sense!

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Whimsical, colorful, cottage-core, rustic, and fun!

What is your favorite room and why? The treehouse-inspired attic for sure. I had a vision and I was really able to bring that to life. It turned out far better than I had ever imagined! We decided to wood panel the ceiling so we could keep the original Victorian cedar beams on show. It has a huge loft net that we love to chill in, and a spectacular view of the city and the sea. It’s my favorite place to watch the sunset from. It’s also home to a bookcase bed, swing, and a spot for “cinema nights,” too.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I recently bought a beautiful half-moon basket for storage, and some Limewash paint in Malibu.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t try to emulate a certain style completely! Your home should be a reflection of you and feel personal. So take some time getting to know what your style really is before decorating!
