Chasing Paper x Yelp Wallpaper Collaboration in a blue on blue color way

Move over, palm frond and floral prints! Toile, one of the most classic and traditional patterns, is back in style and it’s poised be a big trend as this year closes out and 2022 begins. If you’re not familiar, a toile (which literally translates to “cloth” in French) traditionally refers to an illustrated pastoral scene in a monochromatic colorway. Toiles have gotten a little more citified in recent years, perhaps most notably back in 2012 with Flavor Paper’s launch of their Brooklyn Toile, designed by Beastie Boy Mike Diamond. Building upon that idea, today, for their first foray into a home decor collection, Yelp is launching an assortment of streamlined modern toiles in partnership with Chasing Paper: three wallpapers that depict sketches of iconic small businesses in three cities — New York, San Francisco, and Austin.

Designed by graphic designer and illustrator Amanda Giuffre of Noun New York, each city’s repeat features about 12 businesses total; among them are Waterloo Records in Austin, Liholiho Yacht Club in San Francisco, and Books are Magic in Brooklyn. Each design comes in three colorways: black and white, red and white, and gray and blue, and will be available as both traditional and peel and stick wallpaper products.

If seeing your city or a favorite spot is not reason enough to choose this collection, Yelp is also sweetening the pot by giving the first 30 people to purchase the wallpaper panels a $500 gift card to help cover the cost of installation through Yelp’s “Request a Quote” feature for hiring a home service pro. Even better, all of Yelp’s contributions to the collaboration as well as a portion of Chasing Paper’s proceeds will go back to supporting local businesses through donations to nonprofits that support entrepreneurs in each of the featured cities.

The Yelp x Chasing Paper Small Business Wallpapers are available for purchase starting today with prices starting at $40 for a 2-foot by 4-foot panel of removable wallpaper and $90 for a 2-foot by 8-foot panel of traditional wallpaper. The collection will be a limited-edition one, so get it before it’s gone. It’s great to add a local touch to your full walls or even little accent nooks, as shown in the bar area at the top of the post.
