I've been on a lighting kick lately. Maybe it's because I just re-read The Little Book of Hygge. To me, light — whether it's natural or created — is king when it comes to your home. Not all of us have floor-to-ceiling windows or an expansive budget for beautiful light fixtures. And many DIY lighting projects require at least a little bit of electrical wiring. Not in the case of this Paper & Stitch IKEA globe light hack, though. Only $30 and you've just gained another well-lit desk or side table — no wiring required.
Using the IKEA FNISS Trash Can (which will only set you back a measly $1.49), the IKEA FADO Table Lamp, some concrete mix, and a few other odds and ends you probably already have laying around, you can easily make this globe light on your own. You'll begin by prepping the molds for the base of your lamp, mixing and pouring in the concrete, and finally carefully placing the globe inside once everything is dried.
