Chelsea’s “Intentional and Functional” Nashville Loft
Name: Chelsea
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
My husband Jared and I live with our cat, Albert, in a quaint neighborhood called Germantown in Nashville, TN. We live in a building that was once a canvas bag factory. Our apartment is about 1,100 square feet, including our lofted space. We chose to live in Germantown because we were moving from Boston, Massachusetts to Nashville, Tennessee and wanted to maintain a similar metropolitan, historic feel in our neighborhood and home. We also loved the history of our building, Werthan Lofts.
My style is very intentional and functional. Each piece in our home has a place or a story. We avoid buying pieces for our home unless we have a place or function for it ahead of time. My favorite room is our living room, which doubles as our dining room. It has three large windows and the most incredible light. My favorite piece of furniture is also in this room, my grandfather’s printing press we turned into our home bar.
I love that our home tells a story. One can see photos of our wedding, our travels, our personal memories, plus pieces and souvenirs from many important moments in our lives.
Thanks, Chelsea!
