Name: Nikki
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
The basics: 3 months, owned — 500 square feet

Nikki’s studio-turned-one-bedroom is packed full of fun, urban-chic finds and a view to die for. Pops of purple and rich textures give the space an easy lived-in feel that balances the sleek fixtures of the apartment. We want to pour ourselves a glass of wine, plop down on the couch and escape city life in Nikki’s apartment.

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: This is a studio apartment recently converted into a one bedroom open plan home.

What is your favorite room and why? The lounge, it is spacious, bright, and you can see Table Mountain from the sofa. If you sit at the stools at the custom window-ledge counter, you can work on your laptop while watching the cityscape.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? Have more direct sunlight in the winter.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I bought a collection of vintage glass paperweights from a flea market I regularly visit.

Nikki’s words of wisdom: You don’t always have to follow fashion, but you should always make sure comfort is your main priority, as well as ergonomics. If a kitchen or bathroom is awkwardly designed, you won’t enjoy being in that room.

Thanks so much, Nikki!
