Not even the Texas summer heat can slow down Chip and Joanna Gaines from expanding their Magnolia empire. In a recent Instagram post, our favorite home improvement power couple revealed a rendering of the new construction project underway at the Magnolia Silos property in Waco, Texas.

Magnolia Market at the Silos first opened in 2015. In its current state, the property includes a large retail store, Magnolia Seed + Supply for all things gardening, Silos Baking Co., and a food truck area. The highly anticipated expansion, called the “Shops at Silos” will feature six quaint retail cottages and a historic church bordering an open green space, and tree-lined sidewalks for shoppers to stroll at a leisurely pace. The concept was inspired by Joanna’s time living in New York City, as she details in her blog post. She goes on to describe the nostalgic shopping experience that she has always wanted to share with people, and how she hopes to recreate that with the Shops at Silos.

Although they only broke ground a few weeks ago, Magnolia has already shared quite a bit about the upcoming project. Construction will continue through the summer and is expected to be completed in the fall.

Each of the cottages will have its own theme and name, and offer a distinct, curated selection of lifestyle goods. Chapter One will be dedicated to books and paper; No. 16 to men’s provisions; Tried & True to bags and jewelry; Reverie to women’s clothing; Vie Bien Aimée to bath and body; and Juniper & Crew to kids and baby products.

Only a limited number of products will be made available online, so as soon as it’s safe to travel again, you can plan for a trip to Waco to enjoy the Shops at Silos experience in person.
