This Philadelphia Condo Is a Must-See for Its “Pattern-Drenched” Bathroom
What drew marketing manager Chloe Griffin (who’s also launching SOUL, an interior styling and design business, in 2024) to this rental condo in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia is that it had everything typical homes in the area don’t.

Working in the real estate industry, Griffin — who shares the home with her fiancé, Najm Loyd, and Irish Doodle, Chance — knows a thing or two about finding a home that checks all the boxes. Their three-bedroom condo includes private parking, an abundance of storage space, an outdoor area (their view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks was “top-notch”), an open-concept floor plan, and ample natural lighting (which is crucial for her plants).
“Being a new resident of Philadelphia for about a year, our first home here was a row home, and being a big plant mama, the plants and I were not happy (IYKYK),” Griffin writes. “Many of my plants died due to a total lack of sunlight, both direct and indirect, so I knew our new place would need to provide sufficient natural lighting for the remaining soldiers.”
Griffin’s plants don’t need to fear, as their new home is drenched in natural light. “Being a plant mom first, my interior approach has largely consisted of consideration to plant placement and needs, and working around those needs to determine the layout and furniture placement,” Griffin explains.
It’s only been five months since the couple moved in, but how they’ve established their home’s aesthetic and flow in such a short time makes it seem like the space has always been theirs.
Maybe that’s because Griffin, who’s well on the way in her styling journey, has experimented with different design aesthetics in previous homes. In previous spaces, she gravitated towards bohemian influences. But now Griffin finds inspiration from her favorite designer, Kelly Wearstler, and incorporates mixed materials into the rooms. But regardless of Griffin’s current design muses or inspiration, there’s heart behind every space she designs.
“I see beauty and inspiration through many facets of life, and it shows through my discovery with style,” Griffin says. “As a stylist that looks to serve others and believes in the psychology behind our home, I find it critical to have an understanding of several interior choices and preferences. Living life outside of a box, as opposed to inside, helps to nurture this craft.”
