Christina Hendricks’ Unfinished Renovation Is the Most Relatable Thing You’ll See All Day
Anyone who has attempted to buy, renovate, or furnish a house in the past year can attest to the fact that there is a supply and demand issue. Since many people nested during the pandemic, there has been a shortage of everything — from houses and apartments to sofas and contractors. Over the weekend, Christina Hendricks provided a major “stars…they are just like us” moment when she shared her home renovation debacle on social media. And it might just make you feel seen.
Hendricks is currently in the process of remodeling a craftsman home, but it isn’t exactly going as planned. “Progress???? Absolutely no progress. I need advice guys…..my contractor has had this project since last October,” she captioned a video of her unfinished home, adding the hashtags #remodelhell and #desperate to the post.
The clip is literally what renovation nightmares are made of. The unfinished space is littered with ladders, tools, slabs of wood, various scraps of metal, boxed up appliances, and who knows what else. You can literally feel the pain in Hendricks’ voice as she describes the struggle so many homeowners have felt in 2021.
“I just thought I’d share the progress on my house. Which is none: There is no progress. That got scooted back. This is what happens when your contractor lies to you over and over and over and over. And over. You guys, I’m so stressed,” she says, panning the room.
Christina is much less hopeful about the project than she was at the beginning of 2021, when she first shared about her fixer upper. “I bought a house! And I’m going to renovate this 1908 craftsman from head to toe!!!” she captioned the image.
“I’m scared, I cannot lie but so excited to design every little inch. My wonderful friend @beverlyhillsorganizer is going to design the layout and I’ll do all the aesthetic design. It’s going to be a beauty! Wish me luck. Im gonna need it.”
She shared an update in May, captioning the video “Welcome to my nightmare.” Unfortunately, in the months that have passed, not much has changed.
It might be too little, too late, but good luck, Christina!
