There’s a Clueless Pop-Up Coming to LA and We’re Like, Totally Buggin’
Prepare to feel old: “Clueless” is celebrating its 25-year anniversary, and if you’re still obsessed with the colorful, classic teen comedy, you’re going to want to get in your “loqued-out” white Jeep and head to Los Angeles, because a pop-up experience inspired by the 1995 film is officially happening.
The aptly-titled restaurant, called As If: The 25th Anniversary Clueless Pop-Up, will be located at 7100 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood, the same storefront where recent beloved pop culture pop-ups like the Saved by the Max, Good Burger, The Peach Pit and the “Breaking Bad” experience were held. There’s not a ton of info about what fans can expect just yet (a chance to walk into Cher Horowitz’s iconic closet and try on her signature knee socks?) but the food and drink options are sure to be totally dope. Chef Royce Burke is dreaming up some “Cher-able” menu items inspired by the flick, so you’re sure to be rollin’ with the homies as you live out every last ‘90s fantasy you’ve got—all while snapping some Amber-approved Instagram shots, of course.
One of the pop-up’s co-creators, Derek Barry, told Deadline, “We are like ‘totally butt crazy in love’ with the chance to bring the world of ‘Clueless’ to life. It’s truly one of those films that has stood the test of time and cult fandom. With the anniversary quickly approaching there was no better team than ours to honor this beloved teen classic and bring Cher’s world to life. To miss out would have just been way harsh.”
Tickets will be on sale at a later date for $35, which includes 90 minutes in the restaurant, an entree, and a side (cocktails and “Clueless”-themed merch will cost extra.) But the opportunity to make a real-life cameo at the Val party? That’s priceless.
