A short round inside of a coffee table

There are tons of incredibly chic-looking circular coffee tables out there, but very few for under $100, and DIYer Michelle McRae managed to create TWO coffee tables for that much.

She started with an old wire spool and an old QuickCrete container, but you’d never know that, looking at the “afters.” Michelle had been wanting to make nesting coffee tables for quite sometime, and these two sturdy cylinders were the perfect sizes.

She cut pole wrap to size, glued wrapped it around the edges of her forms, and glued it on with liquid nails. She also gave each table a pine board top. To give her tables the organic wood look she was after, she stained the pole wrap and the tops using Minwax’s Provincial stain.

“The process was honestly very simple and can easily be done in a day,” Michelle says. Not to mention, the project saved her major money.

“Nesting tables like these are incredibly expensive in stores right now,” she says. “I am not someone who would ever spend a lot of money on furniture, but I was able to make them for very little money and recycle an old wire spool in the process.”

Michelle says their contemporary vibes give the whole room a more modern look. “I love absolutely everything about these!” she says. “I love looking at them. I love using them.”

That’s the best way to feel about such a living room staple.
