We bought our first home six years ago in the beautiful city of Fredericton, New Brunswick, which we share with our four adopted cats, Luna, Sola, Koda, and Ella. We both love looking for treasures at flea markets or thrift stores in our spare time, so over the years we’ve filled our home with carefully curated finds.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Colorful and eclectic
What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room has always been the living room. It’s where we spend most of our time when we’re home and it has a great view of our tree-filled backyard.
If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? Since it’s an older home, some of the rooms are smaller than I’d like, such as the kitchen and living room. I would love to open up the main floor for a more open concept feel.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? We just finished making over our living room this past spring so the last item I bought was a pair of acrylic chairs from Amazon. We entertain a lot so it was important to have additional seating in this space without making it look too cluttered. These were the perfection solution!
Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t design a space for anyone else but you. It was tempting at times to try to be on trend in my styling, especially as a home decor blogger, but I realized long ago that the only people that need to be happy with a space in our home are us. The positive feedback I receive as a result of sharing it with others is a bonus!
