This Tampa House Is Like a Vibrant, Color-Drenched Oasis
Mica and her husband purchased this 2,342-square-foot house in Tampa, Florida, online, without actually ever setting foot on the property. “Our home was built in 1990 and it was a typical suburban American home of the time. The parts we instantly loved were its high ceilings, expansive walls, and captivating arches,” she begins. But while the home they share with their daughter and their dog may have started as a typical suburban house, it certainly doesn’t look like that today, thanks to Mica’s colorful design style.

“We accentuated these features when transforming our colorful home into a vibrant oasis reflecting our passion for aesthetics and the transformative power of colors,” she describes. Although the renovation to a tropical paradise wasn’t without its challenges.
“The renovation process was quite an adventure!” Mica admits. “We tackled the whole house, giving it a fresh new look from top to bottom, with one exception — the kitchen. We replaced the old carpet with wood flooring and chose new paint colors for each room that instantly elevated the space.”
“Throughout the process, we embraced the power of creativity and took a hands-on approach, incorporating our own DIY magic. From choosing the perfect color palette to executing the renovations, it was a labor of love that brought us immense satisfaction. We strived to create a home that not only reflects our personality but also serves as a colorful sanctuary where we can relax, recharge, and find inspiration,” Mica continues.
“Each aspect of my home holds its own unique charm and significance, contributing to the overall tapestry tied together with color. And that color, lovingly curated, is my favorite part. From the expansive high ceiling to the organic shapes, it’s all tied together with color. Every space has a different color, but it all comes together to create a sanctuary where my family and I find solace, inspiration, and joy.”
