Costco Has a Great Deal on Art Books Right Now
Costco might not be top-of-mind when you think of places to shop luxury goods, but thanks to one TikTok video, it could soon be for luxury books.
Over on TikTok, user @literarylibra recently went viral after she posted about an unbelievable Costco deal. In her video, she says that the warehouse club has stocked up on Taschen books featuring Monet, Van Gogh, Da Vinci, as well as box sets for Sherlock Holmes, C.S. Lewis, and Agatha Christie. She then describes these titles as the “Gucci bag of books.”
For those unaware, Taschen is a publisher known for producing high-quality coffee table books on architecture, art, design, fashion, photography, pop culture, and travel. Their books usually come at a premium — thus, the comparisons to a luxury brand — costing between $60 and $100.
At Costco, though, their books are only $31.99 — or nearly 50% off.
“One of my kids is an artist and would LOSE IT if they saw those,” said one comment. Another added an interesting piece of trivia: “Plot twist! Taschen in German means bags lol it definitely is a Gucci bag!!!”
Take note that the books are unavailable at Costco online, so you’ll have to hurry to one of their locations while stocks last. Other ways to score these titles for less is to either wait a few months, as one commenter said that Taschen holds online sales at the end of January and June, or to check Amazon for deals like this Eames hardcover priced as low as $9 for a used copy.
BRB, heading to Costco to get myself some literary Gucci.
