As someone who loves weighted blankets, I can say that the bulk of them are… well, bulky. Even if they’re not taking up lots of space in your linen closet, per se, many of them are filled with gel beads or another dense material that makes them hard to lug around from your bed to your sofa. More so, their clunky appearance may make you think twice before displaying them in your home when others are around. I get that they’re a very functional bedding item for cold nights, stressful sleeps, and more, but it’s always best when style and performance marry to make something you’re proud to show off and can use to get a great night’s sleep year-round. Enter my new favorite weighted blanket: Coyuchi’s Honeycomb Organic Heavyweight Throw.

The high-quality bedding brand is an AT editor fave, so I jumped at the chance to test their new weighted blanket that came out later in 2021 — and I was seriously impressed. So impressed, in fact, that it made AT’s Weighted Blanket Best List for the best all-season category. If you’re new to the whole weighted blanket concept, this pick is the perfect entryway. The Coyuchi Honeycomb is the ideal mix between a weighted blanket and bedspread, coming in at seven pounds. It’s heavy enough to feel that calming weight on top of you, but not so much that you couldn’t comfortably toss it off in the middle of the night or move around.

The blanket helps me get a restful night’s sleep no matter what the temperature is (and in a NYC apartment where you don’t have control over your air or heat, you get allll of the temperatures). I’ve also used it by itself, with a sheet, and with a sheet and a blanket depending on the time of year and have loved all options.

It’s not bulky and easily folds up without taking up too much space, but I honestly haven’t stashed it away that much because I love having it on my bed or folded at the base. It really is a beautiful piece of bedding to add to your setup, showcasing an eye-catching honeycomb weave. The ivory colorway seamlessly blends with whatever your color scheme happens to be. Oh, and the fact that it’s 100 percent organic cotton, GOTS + Fair Trade Certified, and washes beautifully is important icing on the cake.
