These Lightweight Towels from an Oprah-Favorite Brand Are Soft, Super Absorbent, and Add Tons of Style to My Bathroom

Ever since I started writing for Apartment Therapy, I’ve developed a deep love for bath towels. What used to be a purchase I put little to no thought into, I now take this buy as seriously as I would a new sheet set, mattress, or sofa (yes I take it that seriously). Now when it comes to finding a great bath towel, everyone’s criteria are a bit different. Recently, I gave my bathroom a bit of a makeover and one thing I knew I wanted to incorporate was new towels — but I didn’t want just any towels.

Naturally, they had to be soft, absorbent, and long-lasting (and preferably made with a hanging loop, too). The extra thing I was looking for was flair, something that I felt was lacking from my previous set. So you can imagine my delight when I came across Cozy Earth’s new Ribbed Terry Bath towels. Dear reader, I’ve found my new go-to set.

Made from the same blend of cotton and bamboo viscose as their cult-favorite Premium Plush Bath towels, these towels are the definition of luxury. Ultra-absorbant and designed to stand the test of time — like all Cozy Earth products — this set is the second texture iteration the brand has released of these towels; fellow AT style shopping editor Blair reviewed their waffle towels to rave reviews late last year! With an 800 GSM, you can count on these towels to keep you warm and dry all year long (The higher the GSM the softer and more absorbent your towel will be; most towels range from 600-900). And with its ribbed design, you’ll also be adding a bit of eye candy to your bathroom. What’s not to love?

Let me start off by saying that I had high expectations for these towels. With tons of Cozy Earth fans on the team, I had yet to try anything out from the brand before I got them. But the second I unboxed and felt these towels, I immediately understood the obsession. First things first, these towels are soft. In fact, I found them softer than my current set, something that I didn’t think was possible. Win! Secondly, they’re gorgeous. After I hung one on my shower door, I took a step back to look at it and let out an audible, “Wow!” complete with a grin from ear to ear. The ribbed texture also looks striking and added the perfect dose of subtle style. Long story short, they were exactly what I was looking for.

Now for the important part: how they performed. As I hopped out of the shower and wrapped myself up I couldn’t help but smile. These towels feel phenomenal on the skin and more than live up to their absorbent claims — I was practically dry after the first unwrap! Another win for me is that these towels are plus-size friendly, comfortably wrapping me up with more than enough fabric to spare (FYI: They measure in at 30” x 58”). I also found that these towels washed incredibly well, retaining the softness I was terrified they might lose. Lastly, these towels feature my favorite design in a towel: a hanging loop. Reader, I’m convinced Cozy Earth made these towels just for me.

At $150 for a set of two, I’m aware that these towels are on the pricier side of the spectrum. However, I’ve come to find that when you invest in your bath towels, you get what you pay for. After numerous stress-free washes, tons of use, and a test or two from friends and family, I can confirm that these towels are well worth the investment. After all, life’s too short to live with bad bath towels, and with this set, I’ll never have to worry about that again.
