With the launch of her debut home collection today, fashion designer Laura Kim of Monse and Oscar de la Renta fame is the latest creative to join the Crate & Barrel family. Inspired largely by Kim’s New York City rooftop garden and her love of cooking, baking, and entertaining, the collaboration blends beautiful materials like pink marble, oak, and recycled glass with detailing plucked straight from the runways in an artful range that nails the effortless, organic modern look.

“The concept was to create a collection that allows you to easily throw a casual summer soiree,” says Sebastian Bauer, senior vice president of product design at Crate & Barrel.

At 110 pieces strong, the line is that and then some, spanning the categories of furniture, kitchen, tableware, decor, and textiles with a touch of outdoor living thrown in for good measure. You’ll find handsome wooden furniture, including the Papillon Dining Table and Dining Bench, and vintage-look oversized planters alongside pillows and natural jute rugs. Serving pieces, glassware, and table linens cater to the stylish home cook, and everything fits nicely into a pretty palette of yellows, pinks, and dill greens.

“I’m never interested in creating something that already exists,” says Kim in a press release about the collection. “Whether I’m designing for the runway or creating a recipe for a dinner party, I want to create something new.”

The attention to details — inspired by apparel and the natural beauty of flowers and vegetables — really make these pieces stand out and feel both personal and fresh. Patterns on the Carotte Oval Ceramic Serving Platter feature pressed carrot and leaf designs taken from Kim’s garden, and her own sketches appear on the Botanical Studies Recycled All Purpose Glass. While the ribbing on the Plisse Fluted Glass Bowls was inspired by pleating, the Scallop Colanders reference her favorite breezy summer fabric eyelet.

If I had to pick a favorite product, it’d be a tie between the Rose Cappuccino Marble Tall Dessert Stand, which I love for its striking color, veining, and unique size, and the Scallop Colanders. The colanders are just such a fun take on a traditional berry basket, which is perfect for summer. And they’d make any shelf, table, or countertop look just a little bit cuter!
