This month’s issue of Atomic Ranch features a delicious stop-and-stare exterior makeover to a typical mid-century brick home. See the ‘before’ after the jump…

Seth Wilson and Jennifer Ellis were looking to modernize the exterior of their home. With the help of Seth’s brother Webster Wilson they brought this home into the 21st century by creating a work of art while still maintaining the house’s integrity and roots.

The project began with painting the brick and T-111 siding dark grey and adding floating wood screens on the building that also extend into fencing the landscape, defining other spaces and helping to create privacy. The rest of the project concluded with a membrane roof with soffits, fascia, custom gutters, and recessed lighting. I love the small details where they tied in the new style and palette with the custom benches and tables.

I could just sit and stare at this makeover for hours without ever stepping inside the house. I give it two thumbs up.
