We bought our home just about two years ago and renovated it from top-to-bottom. The elderly woman (her refurbished sofa still sits in our livingroom) who sold us the home had lived here for years and wanted a family to move in who would not tear the house down or do a monster reno (we have a very large city lot so the home was certainly appealing to builders). We loved the house at first sight – it is a 1930s Tudor (i.e. dark and dated), but we saw the immediate potential. The bones and soul were good, but everything else needed to be updated.

We embarked on a four-month, top-to-tail gentle renovation. Without changing the home’s footprint, we created a light-filled, traditional, fun home with modern twists.

Our home is a mix of timeless, classic design with fresh touches that infuse colour and life to our family nest. We marry treasured antique pieces with current modern gems to add energy. Curbside finds, garage sale discoveries, as well as sticks and stones from the beach add warmth, sentiment and personality.
