The Stylish Carry-On I Love for Everything from Weekend Getaways to European Vacations Is on Sale at Nordstrom Right Now
When my duffel broke after eight years of use, I knew that I wanted to invest in one that would survive both trips big and small. I had never splurged on a piece of luggage before, but I had heard so many good things about Dagne Dover’s line of carry-on bags. The large version of the Landon Carryall ticked all of the boxes for me: It had multiple straps, was made out of durable, recycled materials, and had SO many pockets and removable pouches. Plus, it was very chic.
I waited until Black Friday to add the bag to my cart, because I knew that if it were ever going to be on sale that the day after Thanksgiving was a smart bet. And I was right! I got it 20 percent off. That’s why after nine months of toting this bag around to different corners of the U.S. and Europe that I’m finally writing my review. The Dagne Dover Landon is once again on sale. It’s about $70 cheaper during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, so now is the time for my fellow travelers to buy this bag.
It’s only on sale in this burnt orange (Coyote) colorway, but if you like a pop of color, this is a great deal. I personally have the navy, but that’s not available on Nordstrom’s website at this time.
There are many reasons that I recommend this bag to everyone I know. It can handle being jostled, sweated on, and even getting a little dirty. When I do splurge on something, whether it’s a dress from Abercrombie or some Pat McGrath eye palette, I safely tuck those things away in the back of my closet and prioritize my less-prized and cheaper clothing and make-up. I know — It’s my most toxic trait. I worry about damaging everything, but after some mud got on this bag during my trip to Texas in March, and it came off instantly without staining, I relaxed. I even used this bag to haul clothing, candles, and knick-knacks when I moved to my new apartment last month.
Aside from the durability, this bag was clearly designed by an organized jetsetter. It comes with a removable shoe and laundry bag and has an attachable mesh bag for tech and important documents. There are so many interior pockets, including two for shoes and water bottles on the sides and a padded laptop sleeve. There’s also a small exterior pocket that I usually store my passport, driver’s license, phone and keys in.
The only downside to this bag, according to other reviewers, is that it’s a little heavy. I would agree that the carryall is more weighty than my prior bag, but I don’t mind it. It’s never become unmanageable even when it’s overstuffed with my belongings (I like to bring multiple books on trips).
If you’re OK with having a slightly heavier bag in exchange for more pockets and a lasting material, I think it’s worth snagging this bag while it’s discounted — but it might sell out before the sale ends on July 31, so don’t wait too long to make a decision.
