This UK Home’s “Dark Vibrant Eclectic Glam” Look Is Our New Favorite Style

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I live with my husband Mark who runs his own business as an independent financial adviser. Our son Lucas is 19 and is doing an apprenticeship with Mark and our 21-year-old son Isaac is autistic and attends college.
Our home is an Edwardian four-bedroom house in Leicestershire with lots of original features. My house has been painted in dark colors with glamorous gold accents. We love to make stuff and DIY; we made our banquette seating area in our kitchen diner.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Dark vibrant eclectic glam
What is your favorite room and why? My front room, as it has a real fireplace and no television. As it has no telly in it, no one tends to go in there so it’s always tidy, so I enjoy that room to myself. I also enjoy my dressing room where I painted my own mural. (I used to be a scenic artist.)
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last thing we bought is our blue velvet sofa. We love it.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Take risks and don’t over think. Trust your ideas and don’t let anyone put you off them. If you love it it’ll turn out great.
