I Tested Dawn’s New Dish Product, and Here’s My Honest Review
When it comes to washing dishes, I usually opt for the most affordable dish soap. But after trying Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray for the first time last year, I quickly became hooked. Its powerful formula was a game-changer in my kitchen, and I soon found myself using it all over my home — even in the bathroom. But using it so frequently started to eat into my usual dish soap budget.
Just as I was considering going back to my old, generic dish soap, I stumbled across a new Dawn product that promises to last me through the rest of the year. Enter: Dawn PowerSuds.
What Are Dawn PowerSuds?
At first glance, I thought Dawn PowerSuds was just another Powerwash refill or a standard bottle of dish soap. But once I checked the label, I realized it’s an extra-sudsy formula that promises more than just cleaning power. With double the amount of suds, it works extra well on grease and stains without you having to reapply as often. The Ez squeeze bottle design is incredibly convenient for washing a large pile of dirty dishes or tackling tougher cleaning tasks like scrubbing my tub. Plus, the quick-drying action leaves dishes streak-free and shiny, while the “trap and lock suds” formula cuts through grease and residue so easily.
Why I Love Using Dawn PowerSuds
Most dish soaps require a hefty squirt to clean a few dishes, only to need more with each round of washing. But Dawn PowerSuds only requires a dime-size amount to clean several dishes or even tackle an entire sink and counters. I’ve used just a small amount to wash a steel pan, two small plates, two mugs, a glass coffee pot, a chef’s knife, and four utensils without running out of suds. In comparison, my usual go-to, Trader Joe’s liquid dish soap, could clean just a mixing bowl, a mug, a bread knife, and two tablespoons with the same amount.
While I do love the citrus scent of Trader Joe’s dish soap, Dawn PowerSuds has a clean, fresh rain scent that I really enjoy — especially when I use it in the bathroom. It’s become my go-to for both quick daily cleanings and deep cleans. I add a dime-size drop of PowerSuds to my homemade daily shower cleaner to spray on the glass doors, and a quarter-size drop mixed with water does wonders when scrubbing my tub, walls, and doors.
I’ve been using the same bottle of Dawn PowerSuds for just over a month and have only gone through a few ounces, which means I’ll likely still have some left by the holidays. Considering the time, money, and water I’m saving, it’s safe to say that this dish soap is definitely worth a try.
