This Kitchen Upgrade Makes Hand-Washing Dishes Easier (and Cleaner)

You’d think washing dishes is a total act of cleaning, but for me, it gets a bit messy. Water gets all over the counters, soapy hands touch the faucet handle, and food gunk splashes everywhere or sits in the sink drain basket before being tossed out. I didn’t think my hand-washing routine would be able to change in any way, until I upgraded my simple kitchen faucet to the Delta Trinsic Touch2O Technology Kitchen Faucet with Touchless Technology.

The Delta Trinsic Touch2O Technology Kitchen Faucet with Touchless Technology is a sleek touchless faucet that allows you to turn the water on or off by simply placing your hand within 4 inches of the faucet surface or tapping it (alternatively, you can still use the handle if you want). You can even adjust the sensitivity setting to prevent it from turning on super easily when you are simply moving your hand around it (like to pump some dish soap). 

It has a high-arc, gooseneck design that swivels 360 degrees with a 20-inch retractable hose that snaps right back into place using a powerful integrated magnet technology. It runs on six AA batteries, but an A/C adapter is available for purchase. The faucet also has a built-in four-minute shutoff to help conserve water and a TempSense LED light that shows the water temperature it’s currently at, so you never have to wonder if the water has warmed up (or cooled down) yet (blue to magenta to red). 

I didn’t think replacing a faucet without professional help would be easy — but this one actually was. My husband was able to uninstall our old one and then install this new one in under an hour. Everything he needed for installation, aside from some regular household tools (which we already owned), was provided in the box. He followed the step-by-step instructions and watched the installation videos on Delta Faucet’s YouTube. 

It’s been a couple of months now since I began testing the Delta Trinsic Touch2O Technology Kitchen Faucet, and I can confidently say that it’s transformed my whole dishwashing experience for the better. It’s so much cleaner and easier now — no fussing around to turn the faucet off while my hands are soapy and when I need to switch it from cold to hot (or vice versa), I don’t have to physically touch the water to know what temperature it’s at; all I have to do is watch the TempSense light change color. 

My husband did have to adjust the faucet to be on the lowest sensitivity setting, since we were both accidentally getting too close to the faucet and setting off the sensor. But after that adjustment, everything has worked swimmingly, and I’m so thankful for this upgrade.

Of course, it all comes down to personal preference, but I think that touchless faucets are worth it. They come in an array of finishes to match your style, cut down on mess (especially on and around the faucet), and are so simple to use.
