Peek Inside: A 130-Year-Old Victorian Home Got a Dazzling Renovation
From its whitewashed brick and olive green front door, to its scallop siding above the roofline and stained glass windows, this 1893 home is darling from the get-go. But as you might surmise from the perfectly unchipped exterior paint, the Victorian home has undergone a recent renovation.

Fear not, though: The refresh involved carefully restoring the antique gem’s original molding, tiled fireplace, and, of course, stained glass windows. But the update brought in fresh paint inside and out, bespoke built-in cabinetry, light fixtures, and a total remodel of the bathroom and kitchen. The result? A bright, soothing space that feels imbued with history.
In the living room, a white globe light fixture hangs down into the center of the room, lending a modern look while blending in somewhat with the clean, white walls. The simple palette lets the antique fireplace shine, with its sapphire blue tile surround and blue checkerboard hearth.
Through a wide doorway with rounded corners, you’ll find the kitchen, where ultra-pale green custom cabinetry wraps around the room. White marble tops the counters, while a dazzling gold-and-gray Italian range and brass fixtures add some glitz to the room’s otherwise pared-back look.
Not to mention, the kitchen sports one of my favorite home features of all: a built-in banquette, tucked into a sun-soaked corner.
The two bedrooms are beautiful in their simplicity, centering the home’s original high ceilings and carefully restored wood sash windows.
The bathroom follows suit, bedecked in soothing shades of cream, green, and white. To up the relaxation ante, a dreamy clawfoot tub is against the wall, ready for luxuriously long candlelit baths.
