Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I live here in my beautiful home with my boyfriend, our dog, our cat and occasionally, various foster dogs! I am an interior designer and DJ, and he is a motion designer. Our apartment has been a labor of love—with most of the objects and furniture either handmade, refinished, found, or upcycled by myself, and all the tech-y flourishes—such as the lighting and sound system done by Sebastian.
We have over 76 plants in our space and lovingly tend to and propagate them to add to our collection. The aesthetic is a luxurious boho vibe, fusing lush fabrics with vintage pieces, found objects, and interesting artwork. I consider myself a ‘visual hoarder’ and the walls are covered with collages of beautiful imagery and mementos—such as my fortune cookie fortune collection. We love our space so much and would love to share it with you.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Tactile, cozy, sensual, living, eclectic
What is your favorite room and why? Our favorite room right now is the living room! We got this massive couch for free on eBay and I recently reupholstered it from a dirty white to a lusssshhhhh pink velvet. This coupled with a shaggy, geometric area rug and and a large proportion of our 76 plants sitting on top or beside mostly homemade furniture pieces means that this room is extremely “us” and each piece is very much specific to here. We spend most of our time in here, day to evening, and it is both an energetic and restful space.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? Our couch on eBay Kleinanzeige—for free! I just reupholstered it and now it is a beautiful statement piece!
Any advice for creating a home you love? Follow your heart and never be afraid of the things you gravitate towards—you will integrate them in your own unique way if all your choices are guided by your intuition!
