If you love the idea of having a framed flat-screen television that blends seamlessly into your gallery wall, but can’t shell out the money to buy one, then you need to see this viral TikTok.

TikTok user @localsoccermom crafted her very own TV frame with some wooden molding from Lowe’s. The key, according to @localsoccermom, to building your very own television frame is finding molding with a slight ledge on the back of it, or a specifically L-shaped piece of molding — that will be crucial for attaching it to your TV.

Using an ornate piece of decorative molding, an L-shaped molding, a miter box and saw, and some wood glue, @localsoccermom crafted a beautiful and totally removable frame.

Some other necessary tools for this DIY are wood filler, corner clamps, sandpaper, and Rub ‘n Buff or paint color of your choosing.

Then, when it was time to hang, @localsoccermom used picture-hanging Command strips to attach the frame to her television. And to really sell the “this is a painting, not a TV” vibe, she put a picture of a painting on her screen and dimmed the brightness a bit to sell the effect.

In a follow-up video, @localsoccermom said that the entire project only cost her about $60 (she already had the miter box and Rub ‘n Buff, but those are affordable buys). “The molding was the most expensive part,” she added, so depending on the molding you choose, the cost of the DIY could vary.

So if you’re looking to transform your TV wall into something much more ~aesthetic~, then this project may be an absolute hit.
