No homeowner wants any part of their house to be described as “drippy,” unless of course, it’s a popular DIY project from TikTok.

Annika Hinds, a décor expert who has over 1.6 million followers on TikTok, recently posted a tutorial on how to DIY a shelf that looks like it’s dripping — and it actually looks amazing. In the following video, Hinds begins by sketching and cutting the various droplet shapes on wood, then putting the pieces together using wood glue and some screws. She then uses wood filler to fill in the gaps before sanding the entire piece to finish.

At first, Hinds couldn’t decide whether to paint the shelf or leave it as is, so she went with the latter. The comments section loved it, but also gave some suggestions:

“Painted for sure. Whatever color makes you feel all melty,” one commenter said. Another added: “I think a light minty/sage green would be so cute.”

In a follow-up video, Hinds then reveals that she eventually painted the shelf, choosing purple, as she had some leftover purple paint. The result looks even better than the original, seeing as the color of the shelf perfectly matches with the color of her nearby record player.

Overall, the space just looks well put-together, from the pastels of the various décor, to the nearby houseplants, and to the dreamy vibe the shelf is giving us. So drippy—um, I mean—trippy!
