Your Childhood Furby Could Be Worth Over $4,000
After ransacking your closets in search of hidden treasure (I see you super-rare Beanie Babies and vintage Cabbage Patch Kids), you might think you’re all tapped out. But good news, there are still more toys that can earn you some extra moolah by selling them on eBay.
Remember Furby, your long lost emoto-tronic friend? Debuting in 1998, they blinked, cooed, spoke Furbish, and could learn English. The first Furbys came in a variety of colors and 24 special editions including Elvis, Millennium, Patriotic, and Superhero.
If you have one stuffed away in storage, it’s time to bring them out because they could be worth thousands. See below for some that sold on eBay that can give you a glimpse into what you could earn:
This Furby hasn’t been opened or touched, which means it’s close to being in the best shape of its life. Created in 1999, this rainbow-colored version comes in its original sealed box, although the seller mentions there might be damage to the box from previous storage.
Furby Angel, $800
The limited-edition fuzzy critter comes with a box and is in mint condition. He was one of fewer than 50 of its kind and lovingly stored for 19 years. The toy comes with the Furbish/English dictionary and instruction manual.
It wasn’t just the contentious 41-bid bidding war that drove up the price of this high-tech toy. This Furby dates all the way back to 1999, almost the very beginning of the toy saga. The mohawk-wearing Furby is new in box and perfectly preserved.
It’s not too surprising this snake-like toy sold for a high price (it received a whopping 58 bids after all). Proof that not all Furbys remain short and squat.
When it comes to high-priced Furbys, certain fur and eye combinations reign supreme—like this rare Furby that comes in the original box. It has white fur with pink details and purple eyes. It was made in 2006.
Orange with Brown Eyes, $330
This bright orange Furby has brown eyes and was made in 2005. This specific color combination makes it extra valuable.
Domino the Long Furby, $305
This long Furby went for a pretty prime price after a 42-bid bidding war. It is listed as made in 2019 and recommended for those 16 and up. This custom Furby obviously doesn’t come with a box, but that didn’t tarnish its value one bit.
Funky Furby Spanish Blue, $270
This bright blue Furby has been tested, so the seller confirmed he can sing and dance like brand-new.
First Edition Black With Green Eyes, $249.95
This Furby is a first edition and dates back to 1998 when the whacky toys first hit store shelves. Incredibly, it comes in its original box and is in perfect condition, both influencing the high selling price. Plus, the green eyes really stand out against the black fur.
