Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: We moved into this retro farmhouse ten years ago and set out to make it ours. The previous owners had much different tastes than I did, but with three small children at the time, all I could do was just paint and decorate without changing much else.

We lived happily for years but parts of me desired for changes. I’m a very driven and creative person, and my year has come! My kids are now older and more self sufficient and it was time to make home mine. I began 2019 with a game plan to transform our spaces into places we wanted to be, every room!

We love to play board games and watch movies as a family! We also raise sheep and have other farm animals on our property, so we needed a beautiful but highly functional home!! So here we are today, transforming our spaces one DIY at a time!

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: My home is an eclectic retro haven!

What is your favorite room and why? I absolutely love our kitchen. Its beautiful curved retro cabinets and vintage vibe give me such good vibes! I could honestly hang out here all day! I recently thrifted some incredible vintage swag lights that I hung up to finish the look, and I can honestly say it changed the whole feel of the place!! I absolutely love to cook and provide healthy and delicious meals for family, so having a space that feels so perfectly me is ideal!

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I recently bought a new stencil for a piece of furniture I’d like to redo.

Any advice for creating a home you love? My biggest word of advice is do what you love! As easy as it is to be inspired by others and to want to follow trends, the most classic look you can achieve is by creating what you love. I’m inspired by so many designs and trends but I find sticking to colors and styles I like will always create a cohesive peaceful feeling in my home, because I did it. And if something feels off I always ask myself was this from me or was this an influenced look? Finding who I am as I’ve grown older has allowed my creativity to spill out into my home, and I’m here for it!
